LEGO Walk – Fundraiser for Severn Hospice
Take part in our special LEGO Walk and make a real difference in the lives of families in our community. Every step you take helps Severn Hospice continue its incredible work, providing compassionate care, comfort, and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.Registration is free, but participants are asked to confirm their place with a minimum donation of £100 (or £50 for children under 16).
The walk is open to everyone, including children aged 5 and over. So, gather all your family and friends, walk in memory or in support and help us raise much needed funds for Severn Hospice.
Beyond the walk, there’s plenty of entertainment for everyone! Enjoy:

More InformationLights Out Events are pleased to be hosting Belinda O’Hooley, a renowned pianist, singer and composer, probably best known as one half of O’Hooley & Tidow, who rose to international prominence for writing and performing the theme to the hit TV series Gentleman Jack(which also led to an acting role for Belinda on the iconic TV drama Happy Valley). Formerly a member of Rachel Unthank and the Winterset (now The Unthanks), Belinda has performed with her partner Heidi Tidow to a very appreciative audience at the Hermon Chapel before in 2018. Drawing on her heritage in the west of Ireland, Belinda’s music showcases her unique ,minimalist and deeply expressive style. The first woman in her family to reclaim a previously all-male tradition, she has found the freedom to interpret the music of her ancestors in her very own, singular way.
Belinda is also known for her inventive, minimalist, sometimes flamboyant accompanying of folk luminaries including Rufus Wainwright and Nic Jones. It promises to be a great night's entertainment. -

A one-day course designed to help you build confidence in the outdoors and start navigating for yourself — without relying on apps, guesswork, or blind optimism 😏Do you love getting out for a walk but don’t quite feel confident heading out solo? Maybe you follow routes on an app or a guidebook but aren’t sure how to properly read a map or use a compass?
This course is here to change that. By the end of the day, you’ll have the skills (and confidence) to start making your own decisions out on the hill — and actually trust them.
📍 Location: Carding Mill Valley, Long Mynd
We’ll be based in the beautiful Carding Mill Valley, right on the edge of the Long Mynd — a perfect setting to learn navigation with a mix of open hills, clear features, and plenty of real-life terrain to practise in.🧭 What You’ll Learn
We’ll keep things simple, practical, and hands-on:Understanding maps and scales
Making sense of map symbols
Taking grid references
Orientating the map properly
Measuring distance and estimating timings
Planning and following a simple route
The basics of using a compass
What to pack for a day out
What to do if things don’t quite go to plan
👣 What to Expect
We’ll start indoors at the café, then head straight out to put everything into practice on the hill.No pressure, no overwhelm — just learning by doing, with plenty of support along the way.
Expect a relaxed, friendly group and lots of “that actually makes sense now” moments.
⏰ Timings (Approx.)
10:00 AM – Meet at the National Trust café, welcome & intro. Grab a coffee/some breakfast and make yourselves comfy.10:15 AM – 11:45 PM – Indoor session (navigation basics & theory)
11:45 PM – 4:30 PM – Out on the hill putting it all into practice (Up to ~10km on a mix of paths and open terrain. We'll stop for a packed lunch whilst we are out)
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Debrief, questions, and wrap-up

After the success of last year’s tour “Chip Off the Old Block” it was only natural to bring back by popular demand Baga’s partner in crime, comedian and vocal powerhouse TANYA HYDE. Expect duets from ABBA to Bananarama, Wicked to Chicago and the history of a twenty year friendship. A camp old time of sequins, big hair, show business and cabaret!
Including tributes to friends past and present, we suggest ya bring a hanky! If you’ve seen Baga before you will know this isn’t a show for the fainthearted or easily offended; NO ONE is safe! Four acres of sweeping lawns bordered by the River Teme, and serpentine borders, set in the beautiful Teme Valley, around an elegant Georgian House (open for teas). Designed by the late, great plantsman, John Treasure and featuring over 100 varieties of clematis in addition to a myriad of plants in wonderful combinations and colours.
