More InformationWhy not come and watch the JT Hughes Shrewsbury Regatta on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026.
Rowing races will take place on the River Severn in Shrewsbury between English Bridge and the boathouses opposite the Quarry. There will be a race roughly every three minutes on both days and with supporters from the competing clubs cheering the crews on the atmosphere should be full of excitement.
There will be races for 8's, 4's and pairs as well as quad, double and single sculling boats. Competitors will include men, women, juniors and masters.
Entry to the regatta for spectators will be free of charge and you will be able to watch the racing from the river banks on both sides of the river. There will be a bar and barbecue at Pengwern Boat Club as well as other refreshments for all the family.
After the racing has finished on the Saturday of the regatta, food drink and live music will be on offer in the Pengwern Boat Club boat house.

Four acres of sweeping lawns bordered by the River Teme, and serpentine borders, set in the beautiful Teme Valley, around an elegant Georgian House (open for teas). Designed by the late, great plantsman, John Treasure and featuring over 100 varieties of clematis in addition to a myriad of plants in wonderful combinations and colours.

More InformationExotic Zoo in Telford Town Park is embracing Meerkat Mayhem for May half term. They are adding special meerkat and otter talks during the event from May 23rd to 31st. There will be public feeding sessions to get up close to the animals.
Tickets include access to the whole zoo, which includes a Rainforest Zone, Desert Zone, Nocturnal Area, and Farmyard, all located within Telford Town Park.
Exotic Zoo will be open daily from 11am - 4pm during half term. Adult tickets are £12, child tickets are £10, and under 2s go free.

More InformationExotic Zoo, part of Telford Town Park, has announced the return of its evening music concert this summer. Night Time at the Zoo is a family-friendly after-hours experience at Exotic Zoo with live music, food and drinks, where you can party alongside the zoo’s nocturnal animals.
See the zoo in a whole new light as our nocturnal animals begin to wake up. We’ll have some brilliant local acts, a BBQ, food stalls, a licensed bar, refreshments in the Jungle Cafe, stalls, face painting and family entertainment. All ages are welcome, so enjoy a night out with friends or family with our zoo animals.
