From the mighty 80K Shropshire Way challenge to the Tusker 10K, and the Mammothon and Half Mammothon, there is a distance to suit every ability. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, enjoying a family-friendly challenge, or exploring the hills for the first time, this event promises adventure, achievement, and unforgettable memories.
The festival is a fundraiser for Grow Cook Learn, the charity which operates the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, and all money raised will be used to support the charity’s goals. More InformationExotic Zoo at Telford Town Park is hosting Superhero Weekend on April 25th and 26th. Visitors are encouraged to dress up, don capes and cosplay costumes and compete in the fancy dress competition. The zookeepers will be hosting shows that shine a spotlight on their animals’ superpowers, and there will be superhero meet-and-greets and lots of photo opportunities. Wenlock Water’s CoolerTron Droid H-20 will be making a special appearance at the event, promoting sustainability. Local heroes will receive discounted entry when they show their blue light card.
Tickets include access to the whole zoo. Adult tickets are £12, child tickets are £10, and under 2s go free.

More InformationCanadian folk duo, Basset, are full of timeless heart, with deeply human lyrics and stunning duo harmonies reminiscent of the early folk revival. Their live performances are both sincere and disarmingly funny, with warmth enough to soothe anyone ready to lean in.
Their cinematic début album ‘In the Clay’ was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, and earned nods from NPR and the CBC, plus a performance at Celtic Connections in 2024 and the Manchester Folk Festival in 2025. CBC’s Tom Power says, “if you’re a lover of great close harmonies, like Simon and Garfunkel, or Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, I think you’re going to love this”.

More InformationShropshire Tasty Trail is a popular walk and eat event that follows a route through the Shropshire countryside, along footpaths and through private land not usually open to the public. Along the way, walkers enjoy a three-course meal made from locally sourced products.
The event is taking place on Sunday, April 26th and will follow a new route starting from Ellesmere’s historic Oteley Estate. The route will pass meres and cross privately owned land, through fields and woodland. It will be the first time the event has taken place since 2023.
A 9.5 mile route has been plotted that will have three stations where the starter, main course, and dessert will be served, washed down by either a locally produced beer, cider, liqueur or soft drink, with acoustic live music to spur you on.
