Together for fifty-six years now, Steeleye Span changed the face of folk music forever by taking it into the world of gold discs and international tours. Now they return with Conflict, their first full studio album in over five years. All traditional singers have sung modern and self-composed pieces alongside old songs, Conflict is an album that follows in that very tradition. The album’s title was chosen as much to reflect the times we find ourselves in, but also the stretch and tear of our relationship with this planet that hosts us.The band will undertake a full UK tour in support of Conflict, where they will be joined by recent member Athena Octavia – part of indie folk band Iris & Steel and an acclaimed classical violinist. As ever – and with such a rich history to choose from – the night will offer a selection of songs from across the years and albums, coupled with firm fan favourites. Led, as ever, by Maddy Prior, Andrew Sinclair, Roger Carey, Liam Genockey, Julian Littman and Athena Octavia.

at Theatre Severn
ShrewsburyRobin Nolan Trio - For The Love of George
19:30 - 22:00 22nd May 2026

More InformationFollowing the release of his acclaimed album For The Love of George on Dark Horse Records, guitarist Robin Nolan brings his new live show to Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury on Friday 22nd May, celebrating the music of George Harrison and The Beatles.
The album was recorded at Harrison’s home, Friar Park, and created with the support of the Harrison family. Featuring performances on George Harrison’s own guitars, the project offers a rare and deeply personal connection to the late Beatle’s musical world.
Now as part of a major UK wide tour, Nolan brings that project to the Theatre Severn stage in a dynamic live setting, blending Harrison’s iconic songs with his signature gypsy jazz style, alongside select original compositions and Django Reinhardt-inspired material.
Recognised as one of the leading figures in modern gypsy jazz, Nolan has performed at major venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Montreux Jazz Festival, and was personally invited by Harrison to play at Friar Park.
The trio features internationally acclaimed musicians Chris Quinn and Tom Moore, delivering a fresh, melodic and highly accessible take on Harrison’s catalogue — from well-loved Beatles songs to deeper cuts.

OswestryLights Out Events - Present Joe Topping
19:03 - 22:00 31st May 2026

Oswestry Cricket ClubMore InformationDescribed by Sir Tom Jones as “a Weaver of Dreams”, Joe Topping is a folk singer and multi instrumentalist from Liverpool whose singing and guitar playing regularly moves listeners to tears. His charismatic stage presence and engaging stories have entertained audiences all over the country and all across Europe, including live sessions on BBC Radio 2, ITV Television, The National Film Awards and a showcase at SXSW in Texas.
During the Covid pandemic, Joe was asked to enter ITV’s The Voice and, seeing it as fun challenge to do while the rest of the music industry was shut down, decided to give it a go. Joe reached the semi-finals and his audition alone has reached nearly 1 million views on YouTube!
Joe Topping - The Voice
He grew up listening to the Irish and American folk songs that his father sang at the folk club that he ran for several decades. So Joe was constantly surrounded by traveling musicians passing through and who often stayed at the house.
These troubadours, along with the literature of Steinbeck, Kerouac and W. H. Davies gave Joe a wanderlust for the open road and a passion for folk music…
…Especially the music that told a story…That could make you laugh or cry, or could put you in touch with your own empathy for your fellow man.
Today, Joe channels these very qualities into his own music. He aspires to create songs that resonate with listeners on a profound level, aiming to forge a shared connection and foster a sense of community among his audience. Guided by values of kindness, love, and social activism, Joe's music endeavours to contribute to a better world in every way possible.
