20:30 - 22:30 21st June 2026

Celebrate the summer solstice with an unforgettable sunset hike across the wild Stiperstones. Expect rugged ridgelines, golden-hour views, and a touch of adventure—with an optional scramble and a glowing sunset to top it all off.

Join us on Sunday 21st June 2026 for an epic summer solstice evening hike across the wild and rugged Stiperstones. Timed perfectly for the longest day of the year, this 5 km adventure follows sections of the Shropshire Way before climbing to the iconic quartzite ridge, where we’ll watch the sun set in blazing solstice style.

Expect rocky, uneven terrain, airy ridgelines, and a short optional scramble to reach the trig point near the summit. This is a proper adventure—bring layers, a headtorch, and your best “wow, this is unreal” energy.

About the Stiperstones
The Stiperstones is one of Shropshire’s most dramatic landscapes—a rugged 10 km quartzite ridge rising to 536 m at Manstone Rock. Formed around 480 million years ago and sculpted by Ice Age weathering, it’s famous for its jagged rock formations (known as tors) that give the ridge its wild, almost otherworldly feel. Expect striking features like the Devil’s Chair, Shepherd’s Rock, and Manstone Rock—each offering incredible panoramic views stretching across the Shropshire Hills and into Wales.

This National Nature Reserve is also rich in wildlife, with open heathland home to species like red grouse, and forms part of the long-distance Shropshire Way. Steeped in folklore, the ridge is said to be haunted by tales of the Devil himself and the ghostly Wild Edric… so if the wind starts howling, don’t say you weren’t warned 👀
