Oswestry town centre is turned into a festival of fun with huge amusement rides, indoor and street markets, Porthywaen Silver Band, street food and late-night shopping.The Bailey Head market square will be ready to rock with live music and Father Christmas will be in his grotto at the indoor market.As the evening draws to a close, there will also be quiet fireworks from the town’s Cae Glas Park.The fun starts at 5pm. Arrive at our vintage station, Llanfair Caereinion, board our heated carriages hauled by a historic steam engine to be transported through a wintery landscape.
Your journey last approximately 50 minutes, during which time you will meet Santa and his Elves on the train and receive a quality present for each child.
Adult passengers receive a mince pie and non-alcoholic hot seasonal drink to enjoy during your journey. Children receive a gingerbread train and juice carton.
Festive Cheer
Food & Drink – Enjoy a range of hot food and drink including festive specials from our Outside Catering Unit, or relax with a slice of cake and tea or coffee in the Station Tearoom.
Shop – Treat yourself or a little one with a festive gift, including our locally produced Welsh range and specially produced Christmas Cards depicting winter scenes along the line.
Wrap up warm – Our vintage carriages are steam heated, however our stations and many activities are outdoors, therefore we advise our passengers to wrap up warm during the winter months.

Oswestry TownOswestry,More InformationIt’s Christmas Parade Day on Saturday 7th of December and there’s a carnival atmosphere in Oswestry’s town centre. Oswestry Borderland Rotary organises a fantastic procession throughout the town centre of everything from vintage trucks to the biggest Christmas themed floats. Be there early to be sure of a good spot – you might get lucky and catch some of the sweet treats from the floats. All monies raised will be donated to local charities. The parade starts at 11am.It’s market day in Oswestry too, so bring your Christmas shopping list and stay on to browse the indoor and outdoor market stalls. The Christmas Grotto will be open at the Indoor Market with Santa in residence – all proceeds donated to charity.

A leisurely four-hour cruise that starts and ends in Llangollen. We will meander along the Llangollen Canal taking in all the beautiful scenery that the Dee Valley and its river has to offer. We will then enter Trevor Basin which leads us on to the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We will cross this, not just once, but twice. The view is breath taking.
Your food will be at your table when you board the boat ready for you to eat at your leisure, once we have set off your drinks will be brought to your table.
Retro Buffet Platter
Think 80’s style Buffet, cheese and onion sticks, vol-au-vents, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, finger sandwiches. Vegetarian and Vegan options available. (All brought up to date and homemade by us at the Wharf)
A glass of Fizz or a Beer.
