ArtShack offers small friendly personal creative development sessions every Monday and Wednesday, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop new skills with help and support from professional and well experienced artists. People of all ages and abilities from the complete novice to the more experienced are welcome.
Morning and afternoon sessions are available on each day.
We offer – textiles, felting, lino cuts, ceramics, silk painting, painting, drawing, sculpture, print making, embroidery and so much more!
Creative sessions must be pre-booked.

“A great route and a great cause”This circular Ramble (23 miles) runs between Bishops Castle and Clun, taking in Bury Ditches, the Walcot Estate and bits of the Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke. It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose.
We mark the routes thoroughly with arrows, and send detailed maps with full directions in roughly 3-mile sections to your email address: “the best marked route, by far, we have ever been on”.
Enter by donating £10 per person to Blood Cancer UK via: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jeanshirley
then contacting jeanshirley@btinternet.com for your pack and further information.Apply between March 1 and May 16. After that, you decide when to walk between May 17 - 30, on which route or routes and with whom.

Shrewsbury, SY5 7DNMore InformationDescribed as Britain’s finest half-timbered house, Pitchford Hall was owned by the Colthurst family for more than 500 years before being sold in 1992. Now on the ‘at Risk’ register, the house has been bought back by Rowena Colthurst and her husband, who are embarking on the massive task of saving it, following 25 years of neglect. The house is named after a natural pitch well in the grounds. Prince Rupert hid from the Roundheads in the priest-hole here during the Civil War and Princess (later Queen) Victoria played in the Tudor-style treehouse. The ‘restoration’ tours will include the main rooms on the ground floor, the priest-hole room and the Princess Victoria’s bedroom.We sometimes include the Victorian kitchen, unrestored Victorian wing and the General’s Quarters (west wing) and the attic in the tour. Tea and cakes will be served in the great hall, old library or on the lawn.

“A great route and a great cause”This circular Ramble (23 miles) runs between Bishops Castle and Clun, taking in Bury Ditches, the Walcot Estate and bits of the Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke. It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose.
We mark the routes thoroughly with arrows, and send detailed maps with full directions in roughly 3-mile sections to your email address: “the best marked route, by far, we have ever been on”.

Get up close to these machines in the world they originally inhabited. Visiting Engines include nine models of various scales and makes, including: Burrells, Avelings and Garretts. There will be four full size engines comprising a Fowler, a Foster an Aveling and a Trotter.

Get up close to these machines in the world they originally inhabited. Visiting Engines include nine models of various scales and makes, including: Burrells, Avelings and Garretts. There will be four full size engines comprising a Fowler, a Foster an Aveling and a Trotter.

“A great route and a great cause”This circular Ramble (23 miles) runs between Bishops Castle and Clun, taking in Bury Ditches, the Walcot Estate and bits of the Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke. It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose.
We mark the routes thoroughly with arrows, and send detailed maps with full directions in roughly 3-mile sections to your email address: “the best marked route, by far, we have ever been on”.

There is such a variety of features in this 2 acre garden that we call
it the smallest stately home garden in the world!
From the top you can see the Italian Walk, large vegetable patch,
plants for sale, Parterre and Long Walk. Then, if you can negotiate
steps there is the Hill Bed, Snake Bank and Sculpture Park plus a
series of terraces, the Laburnum Walk, Japanese water garden, three
metre Cascade, Zanzibar Arch, Grotto, Thai Spirit house and mixed
borders.
If you have not been to the garden recently you will find there have
been many changes in the last few years. Some beds have been
completely re-planted, as has the Apple Tree Bank. There are still
woodland and riverside walks but the lawn has been transformed
with paving and staturary, including the The Gardeners made by
local blacksmith, Chris Stokes.
The extensive vegetable garden is a feast for the eyes as well as
our dinner plates and the nursery has over 200 perennials, shriubs
and trees for sale.
Brownhill House Garden might be on an impossible north facing
slope yet there is plenty you can see from the top, or just sit on the
terrace and enjoy the wonderful view across the valley of the River Perry.Saturday April 23

It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose.

Roz is a retired teacher, has a passion for teaching crochet and for several years she has been developing ways of making this easy and enjoyable. Roz rarely uses patterns, instead teaching experimental methods including freestyle and freeform crochet.
This is suitable for complete beginners of all ages, or anyone who wants to develop their crochet more creatively.

More InformationResidents from across Telford are invited to kick start the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events later this month with a Party in the Park event taking place at High Ercall Village Hall.
The free to attend community event will take place on May 28th — one week before the official Jubilee weekend — and will host a variety of family friendly entertainment and activities to commemorate the celebrations.
Gates will open at 12noon for attendees to take their spot on the village hall playing fields, with the day’s events starting at 1pm.
Guests will enjoy live music and light-hearted family performances on the outdoor stage, while a marquee will host children’s craft activities, face painting and royal themed memorabilia stalls. Tractor rides will take place around the field, volunteers will be on hand to keep guests well hydrated at the village hall’s licensed bar and a range of food trucks on site will have food available.
Younger guests are invited to get dressed up and join in with a red, white and blue themed parade taking place at 1:30pm, which will be judged by High Ercall village representatives.
Jade Ziola-Sammons, High Ercall Village Hall events coordinator, said that the event was planned to bring everyone together in the village.
“We all know the challenges everyone has faced over the past couple of years, and High Ercall Village Hall, which is ran by a dedicated group of volunteers, has become the heart of the village over recent times.
“We wanted to arrange an event to bring everyone back together again — and what better way to celebrate the Jubilee than with a party! There will be something for everyone to enjoy, and guests can even have their picture taken alongside the Queen on our own custom-made royal throne.
“The Village Hall committee is hugely thankful to Telford & Wrekin Council’s The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Fund, which is helping make the event possible. We can’t wait to see everyone at the event later this month.”
Registration isn’t required to attend the event, however if the weather doesn’t permit an outdoor event, activities will be moved inside the Village Hall, which will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

More InformationLudlow Town Tours will be running a full programme of regular tours every Saturday and Sunday from April to October this year, plus every day in July, August and September, and every day during Whitsun half term week and October half term week.
All regular tours start at the cannon outside the Castle at 2.30 pm and cost £5 per adult.

“A great route and a great cause”This circular Ramble (23 miles) runs between Bishops Castle and Clun, taking in Bury Ditches, the Walcot Estate and bits of the Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke. It divides into a fairly gentle Amble (10 miles), more challenging Scramble (13 miles) and shorter distances if you choose.
We mark the routes thoroughly with arrows, and send detailed maps with full directions in roughly 3-mile sections to your email address: “the best marked route, by far, we have ever been on”.

We will then pass through Trevor Basin which leads us on to the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which we will cross not just once, but twice. The view is breath taking.

More InformationLudlow Town Tours will be running a full programme of regular tours every Saturday and Sunday from April to October this year, plus every day in July, August and September, and every day during Whitsun half term week and October half term week.
All regular tours start at the cannon outside the Castle at 2.30 pm and cost £5 per adult.
In addition, private group tours and special historical tours (e.g. medieval Ludlow, Civil War Ludlow, Georgian Ludlow etc) can be booked via the Visitor Information Centre or direct with Roger Furniss on 01584 874205 or furniss@phonecoop.coop.
