More InformationOur Spring foraging courses take place in Ouzel Valley Park, by kind permission of the Parks Trust. This beautiful park’s mixture of hedgerow, meadow and riverside make it a great location for suburban Spring & Summer foraging. It is within easy reach of Bedford, Buckingham, Aylesbury, Northampton, Luton, Bicester and even Stevenage.
Whether you're just starting your foraging journey or you wish to gain more confidence when identifying spring time delicacies, our experienced foraging instructors will guide you through the basics, ensuring you gain the confidence to identify and gather wild edibles safely.

1. Foraging Fundamentals: Master the basics of identification, safety, and ethical foraging practices.
2. Wild Edibles Cooking: Elevate your culinary skills by incorporating foraged ingredients into delicious, gourmet dishes.
3. Seasonal Foraging: Explore the changing landscape and learn to identify spring time delicacies.

Geoff will share his experiences from last year from his unusual sightings such as the Ring Ouzel in his garden at the beginning of the year, to short-eared owls in South Wales at the end and everything in between.

Cost:£200 per course participantWith Barbara Bodziony – Following the popularity of Barbara’s calligraphy course at Wenlock Abbey last year, we are pleased to offer another, slightly longer course this year.
You can either be a complete beginner, or have some experience of calligraphy. The course runs from 2pm on Friday 3rd May to 12:30pm on Sunday 5th May and includes all the materials you will need, as well as tea/coffee and a light lunch on Saturday. You will need to find your own accommodation.
In the ancient setting of the Great Hall at Wenlock Abbey, learn how to write in calligraphic script. Also learn something of the history of this ancient house, including the restoration programme carried out under the ownership of Louis de Wet, himself a fine calligrapher.
This year, the course will feature the Carolingian Minuscule script.
