Collaborating in Tāla Tarang (meaning ‘rhythm waves’) they bring together strands of traditional, contemporary, folk, and western and Indian classical music. Playing in intimate jazz clubs, concert halls, and outdoor festivals around Europe they weave East-meets-West musical tapestries that celebrate nature and humanity.

Cosy HallMore InformationThe Jarualda Quartet is a group of Shropshire’s finest professional musicians who got together during the Covid semi-lockdown in 2021 and enjoyed playing so much they decided to form a string quartet and perform in public. The name, Jarualda, being based on the artists’ own names -Jane, Ruth, Alex, and David - conveys the notion that all the players are of equal importance, and together they form far more than the sum of their parts.
Ruth Henley, ’cello; David Joyce, violin; Jane Park, viola, and Alex Postlethwaite, violin, will present:
Haydn - String Quartet in D, Op 64, No 5, ‘The Lark’,
Beethoven - String Quartet 11 in F minor, Op 95, ‘Serioso’,
Shostakovich - String Quartet 8, and
‘Lyric Movement’ by composer, Paul Henley, Ruth’s husband.Do join us for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon concert.
