Mike Gayle is the author of 15 novels including the Sunday Times Bestselling My Legendary Girlfriend, Mr Commitment and Turning Thirty. Previously a journalist and agony uncle, Mike’s work has appeared in a variety of publications including The Sunday Times, The Guardian and Cosmopolitan. He has also been a judge on a number of literary prizes including the Costa, Betty Trask and WH Smith Awards. His latest novel is Half a World Away.

Cosy HallMore InformationThe Jarualda Quartet is a group of Shropshire’s finest professional musicians who got together during the Covid semi-lockdown in 2021 and enjoyed playing so much they decided to form a string quartet and perform in public. The name, Jarualda, being based on the artists’ own names -Jane, Ruth, Alex, and David - conveys the notion that all the players are of equal importance, and together they form far more than the sum of their parts.
Ruth Henley, ’cello; David Joyce, violin; Jane Park, viola, and Alex Postlethwaite, violin, will present:
Haydn - String Quartet in D, Op 64, No 5, ‘The Lark’,
